The cheapest way of locating classic car parts is to find them yourself, and one of the cheapest ways to do this is to check your local and far away car breakers. The shell of the car you want to fix could even be located here but to do it this way you will need to know what to look for. If you’re not sure what to look for here leave the scrap yard out as it is no place for the inexperienced. To be successful at the car breakers you will need to have the ability to distinguish what’s classic and what’s not, something that is more difficult than you might think.

Swap Meets:

Swap Meets are designed to bring together car lovers all over the country. Similar to a car boot sale, Swap Meets allow sellers to rent out a floor space to sell their classic car parts.  This is a great place to start if you are new to this as you can communicate with thousands of car enthusiasts and find out more about the parts for sale.

Car magazines like swap meets are great for those who are new to this field. There are plenty of car specific magazines out there that will provide you with the information and parts you need to complete your classic car.  Many of the magazines offer online help too if you need any further advice from them.

Online dealers are constantly communicating with each other over the internet to find the best deals possible.  With a simple search for the parts you want your sure to find what you’re looking for. Simply enter in the make/year/model and description of the car part you are looking for and see what’s up for grabs. Although a very good way of finding the parts you need it can also prove to be the most expensive way.

Online Forums:

As well as doing a direct search on the internet to look for dealers you can also check out online forums.  Forums are pages on the internet where people with the same interests can connect and communicate with one another. Use these forums to find dealers who may have the parts you are looking for. The more specific the forum the better.
